Night of Lights Surprise Proposal

The Night of Lights is one of the most magical times in St. Augustine, but it’s also the busiest. On Saturdays, the historic streets are alive with twinkling lights, LOTS of excited visitors, and a lively atmosphere. While the crowds and low lighting can make a proposal seem tricky to pull off, that’s where my expertise comes in.

As the couple approached the fountain in front of the Lightner Museum, I positioned myself to discreetly capture the big moment. Let me tell you, there was soooo many people there before they arrived, but the magical thing about St. Augustine is the crowd always sense that special moment about to happen and they did clear way!!!

The focus was entirely on the couple. When he dropped to one knee, the world seemed to pause. The look of surprise and joy on her face was priceless, and I made sure every detail was documented flawlessly. This is what I love most about photographing proposals: being part of a story that’s both intimate and unforgettable. — I also loved the crowd behind my back awwwing and applauding!
